The Frye Art Museum 

The Frye is a must-see spot in Seattle for contemporary art. Passionate about social dialogue, the museum features both local and global artists that explore social issues. From abstract art to poetry to video, you will find yourself immersed in the conversation that art sparks. One of the best parts about The Frye Art Museum is that it is run as a non-profit, so your attendance is absolutely free! 

The Museum of Pop Culture

To truly dive into the current culture and times that we live in, head over to The Museum of Pop Culture, also known as MoPOP. With innovative exhibits that truly capture the zeitgeist of the 21st century, you will definitely not be bored. Current exhibits like Body of Work: Tattoo Culture and Minecraft: The Exhibition are examples of the fun and interesting art to witness at The Museum of Pop Culture.

Vermillion

Drink in the art with a cocktail at Vermillion Art Gallery and Bar. Vermillion really makes it a full experience with its nice cozy atmosphere where you can refuel with some food and drink while you take in the art. This fun, hybrid art gallery dedicates half of it’s space to exhibitions by professional artists and the other half to a chic bar with cocktails, wine, beer, and a seasonal menu. Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum

Seattle Art Museum & The Seattle Asian Art Museum

The World-Famous Seattle Art Museum is the largest art museum in the whole city. Guaranteed to have art for everyone’s tastes, the SAM includes three locations. There is the main location which is the largest, featuring galleries including all types of art from modern, to European to African to ancient Meditteraean. There is also the Seattle Asian Art Museum, also known as SAAM located in Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill, with an impressive collection honoring Asain Culture. Finally, they created the Olympic Sculpture Park, for visitors to ponder beautiful sculptures while walking along the beautiful waterfront. 

 

The Shafer Baillie Mansion is just a 5 minute walk from the SAAM in Volunteer Park. Visit us on a first Saturday of the month or the first & second Thursday of the month for free entry to SAAM!
