Please note that all guest rooms are on the second and third floors, and there is no elevator in our historic inn.

Rates: Rates quoted are for single or double occupancy. Additional guests, in rooms that can accommodate them, are $20 per person per night. High season rates are from May through September, Wednesday through Saturday of Thanksgiving week, and shortly before Christmas through the New Years holiday. Low season rates are from October through April, excluding the listed holidays.
Discounts: Discounts are available for extended stays. Please inquire at the time of reservation.
Children: In consideration of other guests we ask that young children be well-behaved and under direct parental supervision at all times, and that infants be sleeping (or at least quiet) through the night before being brought to stay at the mansion.
Minimum Stay: A two-night minimum is generally required for Fridays and Saturdays and summer weeknights, unless bookings allow a shorter stay. A three-night minimum is required for certain holidays and for summer weekends. If the online system will not permit you to make a shorter reservation, please call to inquire as we may be able to accommodate you.
Pets: Due to sensitivities of family members and some guests, we are not able to have dogs or cats of our own, and unfortunately are unable to accommodate guest pets.
Payment: We accept payment by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Your reservation is confirmed with payment of a one-night deposit including tax. The balance is due at arrival time. If you pay the deposit by credit card, then we will charge the balance to the same card on the day you are due to arrive, unless you specifically inform us otherwise at the time of the reservation. Rates are subject to Washington State sales tax and City of Seattle lodging tax (15.6%).
Cancellation or Shortening of Stay: Because we do not overbook as hotels do, and last-minute changes are costly for us, we require at least seven days’ notice in the event of a cancellation to refund your deposit (less a $25 service charge). Shortening of a stay with less than seven days’ notice will incur a one-night charge. The full charge for the reservation will be incurred for no-shows or for early departure after the stay has been charged on the arrival date. Reservations for two or more rooms require 30 days’ notice of cancellation in order to refund deposit (less $25 service charge per room).
Parking: There is free street parking in front of the mansion (14th Avenue East), which is generally plentiful.
Breakfast: We serve an expanded continental breakfast including rolls, bagels, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereal, cheeses, smoked salmon, prosciutto, coffee, tea, and juice. Breakfast is available from 8:00 to 10:00 am. If you need breakfast earlier, please let us know so we can have some of the less-perishable breakfast items laid out for you in advance. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and bottled water are available at all times.
Smoking: Shafer Baillie Mansion and its grounds are smoke-free. Smoking is permitted on the sidewalk outside the fence in front of the house and in the alley behind the house.
Check-in and Check-out: Standard check-in is 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm or by prior arrangement. Check-out time is 11:00 am. We can store your bags for afternoon departures.
