Weddings

The opulence and elegance of the Shafer Baillie Mansion not only make it the home away from home of your dreams—the Mansion has also hosted countless Seattle weddings, receptions, parties, reunions, business meetings and other events during its storied history.  Rich oak and mahogany woodwork, eclectic antique and reproduction furnishings, Oriental rugs, and many original and period-style fixtures afford the ideal ambience for a wedding location or for your special day, whatever the occasion. 
In addition to the graceful appointments of the main floor day rooms, a basement-level hall designed in the Arts and Crafts style provides a less-formal party space for music, dancing, dining—the possibilities are almost endless!  This was probably the original billiard room or as we like to call it, speakeasy.  Oak floors, fir beams and paneling, Batchelder tile fireplace with copper hood, reproduction Tiffany-style lighting and antique Scandinavian bar are some of the delightful touches in this room.  A stage and portable PA system are also available, as well as quaint antique wood theater-style folding seats.
Rental rates for weddings, receptions and other events range from $300 - $2000 depending on event size and duration, time of day, day of the week, and time of year.  We are happy to host multi-day events and can work with you to create packages combining facility rental and overnight accommodations.  Catering is also available.  Groups from just a few to well over 100 can be accommodated in style!
