Washington State Ferries	Try a ferry trip to Bainbridge Island and back from the Seattle waterfront for the views.
Chateau Ste Michelle Winery	Located in Woodinville, about a half hour from the Mansion. Features free tours and tastings, a popular summer concert series and more.
Columbia Winery	Also in Woodinville. Free tours and tastings. Some of their finest products are available exclusively at the winery.
Leavenworth Bavarian Village	Especially if you’re in the area during Oktoberfest!

TOURS

North Cascades Highway	Spectacular scenery along the Cascade Mountains.
City of Snohomish	Historic architecture; great for antiquing. About 40 minutes north.
Mt St Helens Nat'l Volcanic Monument	Breathtaking opportunity to witness volcanic devastation and Nature’s healing response.
Victoria BC	Quaint and charming tourist trap north of the border with a feel of Olde England. Take a two-hour Victoria Clipper hydrofoil trip from the Seattle waterfront, or take the ferry from Tsawwassen (near Vancouver BC) or Port Angeles, WA. Other air and sea travel options are also available, some including whale-watching opportunities.
Vancouver BC	Beautiful and cosmopolitan city two and a half hours north.
San Juan Islands
Olympic Peninsula and Rain Forest
Mt Rainier National Park
Snow skiing at Crystal Mountain, Stevens Pass, or Snoqualmie Pass

CONCERT VENUES

White River Amphitheatre	Major concert venue in Auburn, about 45 min from the Mansion.
The Gorge Amphitheatre	Enormous natural amphitheater concert venue in George, Washington (yes, there really is such a town!), about two and a half hours away.

SHOPPING

Outlet Malls
Ikea	Located in Renton; about 20 min from the Mansion, or a relatively quick detour on your way to or from SeaTac airport.
Alderwood Mall	Large suburban mall about 20 min away.
Bellevue Square	Upscale suburban shopping mall about 15 min from the Mansion—consider it a good excuse to take a drive across Lake Washington on one of the floating bridges.
